Orrville Area United Way and the Orrville Area Chamber of Commerce are excited to announce the return of Day of Caring, scheduled for Wednesday, May 7, 2025. This annual event brings together businesses, individuals, and small groups for a morning of meaningful volunteer work, fostering connections and creating a lasting impact in Dalton, Marshallville, and Orrville.

Building on the success of 2024, organizers are preparing for another impactful event in 2025. In 2024, 260 volunteers from 23 organizations completed 39 projects across the community, demonstrating the power of collaboration and the caring spirit that defines the area. This year, approximately 70 Orrville High School graduating seniors will join business and organizational volunteers through a new partnership with Senior Service Day, further expanding the event’s reach. The volunteer cap for 2025 is set at 250 participants, not including the graduating seniors.

Applications for community projects will be accepted beginning February 1, 2025. Non-profits, churches, senior care facilities, schools, social service organizations, and local government departments are encouraged to submit project proposals by March 28, 2025.

Volunteer registration opens on February 1 and runs through April 4. Individuals and teams are encouraged to sign up early to secure their spot.

“Day of Caring continues to grow, showcasing the incredible generosity and spirit of our community”, said James Carpenter, Executive Director of Orrville Area United Way. “We are excited to see the impact we can make together this year.”
